Why Do I Call Myself a Christian?

Why am I called a Christian? 

Because I am a member of Christ by faith 

1 Corinthians 12:12,13 

• For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 
• For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body; whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

And thus share in His anointing, 

1 John 2:27 

• But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, 
• and you do not need that anyone teach you; 
• but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, 
• and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

So that I may as prophet confess His Name,

Romans 10:9,10 

• …that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus 
• and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 
• For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, 
• and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 

As priest present myself a living sacrifice of thankfulness to Him, 

1 Peter 2:9 

• But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, 
• His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him 
• who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light….

And as king fight with a free and good conscience against sin and the devil in this life,

Ephesians 6:11 

• Put on the whole armor of God, 
• that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

And hereafter reign with Him eternally over all creatures.

Matthew 25:34 

• Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 
• “Come, you blessed of My Father, 
• inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world….” 

2 Timothy 2:12 

• If we endure, 
• We shall also reign with Him. 
• If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
