I Want My Soul to Be Quieted
The unbeliever who is ignorant or rejects the comfort that arises from
God’s grace
- has to look for another source of comfort.
- Nevertheless, the most they can find in this life
- is some temporary respite from the miserable consequences of sin.
- so that they can enjoy some physical comforts, such as a nice home and good food.
- They do not have the discomfort of being left out in the cold,
- nor the discomfort of hunger pains.
- which alleviate some of the pain and suffering which man would otherwise experience.
- Yet such “comforts” only affect the outward body.
- The believer, however, enjoys peace of mind.
- His soul is quieted within him.
