Why I Am Not Roman Catholic

 Jesus is my only and complete Savior.

Jesus is named "Jesus" because He alone saves me from my sins.

• He delivers me from my sins - not merely the consequences, but from sin itself.
• Salvation cannot be found in anyone else - there is no other name under heaven given among men by which I can be saved.

True faith in Jesus excludes seeking salvation anywhere else.

• If I seek salvation in myself, in saints, or in any other source, I do not truly believe in Jesus as the only Savior,
• even if I boast of Him in words.

My actions would deny Him because:

• Either/or choice: Either Jesus is not a complete Savior, OR when I truly receive Him I find all I need for salvation in Him.
• No partial salvation: I cannot split my trust between Jesus and something else - salvation is ALL in Christ or NOT at all.
• Complete sufficiency: In Christ I have "all the fullness" - Colossians 1:19-20; 2:10

Exclusive trust

• My comfort rests entirely on belonging to Jesus who "has fully paid for all my sins" - no addition needed.

Examine my faith

• Am I truly seeking all my salvation in Christ, 
• or am I secretly looking to my own efforts, religious practices, or others to complete what Jesus finished?

Rest in completeness

• Jesus is not a partial Savior - He saves to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25).
• What I need for salvation, I find entirely in Him.

This truth

• powerfully reinforces the principle of solus Christus (Christ alone)
• salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name.

For the Bible Tells Me So...

Matthew 1:21 — She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Acts 4:11 — He is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

1 Timothy 2:5 — For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
