To the One Who Has Gone to Heaven in Order to Bring Me to Be With Him
Q. What do you confess when you say, He ascended into heaven?
- That Christ, before the eyes of His disciples, was taken up from the earth into heaven,
- and that He is there for my benefit
- until He comes again to judge the living and the dead.
Mark 16:19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
Luke 24:50,51
- And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
- Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
- Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
- And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
- who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Hebrews 7:23-25
- Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.
- But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
- Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Matthew 24:30 “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Acts 1:11 …who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
