Someone to Trust When I Don't Understand What's Happening
How does the knowledge of God's creation and providence help me?
- I can be patient when things go against me,
- thankful when things go well,
- and for the future I can have good confidence in my faithful God and Father
- that nothing in creation can separate me from His love.
- For all creatures are so completely in God's hand that without His will
- they can neither move nor be moved.
James 1:3 ...knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 ...in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Proverbs 21:1. The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
God's providence does not give me easy answers for why everything happens.
- Instead, it gives me someone to trust, even when I do not understand.
- I trust God who created the world and continues to hold it in His powerful and gracious hand.
Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
