Why Can't I Pay For My Own Sins?

Can we make this payment ourselves?

Certainly not.  Actually, we increase our debt everyday.

• I cannot begin to pay my debts because everything I do is defiled with sin.  
• In fact, instead of reducing my sin, I only increase it daily.
  

Psalm 130:3  

• Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive?

Matthew 6:12  

• And forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
