Before We Talk About Reclaiming America for Christ on the Right

Before we talk about rescuing the planet (reclaiming America for Christ on the right, and joining the ONE campaign on the left), 

• we need to hear how Jesus came to deliver sinners....
• the interest in missions among young people is trending away from saving souls and toward saving the world.

Q. Since, according to God’s righteous judgment we deserve temporal and eternal punishment, how can we escape this punishment and be again received into favor? 

A. God demands that His justice be satisfied. 

• Therefore we must make full payment, 
• either by ourselves or through another.

Psalm 130:3 

• If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, 
• O Lord, who could stand? 

Romans 2:4,5 

• Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, 
• not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
• But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, 
• you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, 
• when his righteous judgment will be revealed.

Even in passages like Matthew 25 where Jesus commands us to feed and clothe the least of our brothers, 

• He also warns against being shut out of the coming wedding feast (v. 10), 
• being cast into the outer darkness (v. 30), 
• and going away into eternal punishment (v. 46).  

With sober gravity we must confess that hell is real and people will go there.
